Tree of Life

What is the Tree of Life?

Our beautiful Tree of Life was commissioned in 1997 and is a wonderful reminder of the special people and events in the lives of our community's members.  Plaques are engraved with relevant details and attached in a short meaningful ceremony.

Why buy a leaf?

Our Tree is not just a memorial board. You can purchase one or more leaves to mark any lifecycle or special event which you would like to share and remember with the whole community.

We have leaves that publicly remember special family members and others that note and celebrate key milestones such as a birth, baby blessing, b'mitzvah, conversion, marriage or a milestone birthday or anniversary.

Donations received contribute towards supporting the life of the community.

How much does a leaf cost?

The suggested minimum donation for a leaf is currently £250.

How do I purchase a leaf?

Please fill in the request form which includes a template for the engraving and return with your donation to the synagogue office.

When does the plaque get fixed to the tree?

The office team will liaise with you and Rabbi Paul to agree a date and time for the fixing ceremony.
