The charities we are supporting  this year - 2024 / 5785

This year our choice of charities was guided through the principle of ‘Ahavat Chinam’ - Baseless Love!

In our tradition, Sin'at Chinam - baseless hatred is given as the reason both Temples were destroyed, and as the root cause of many other Jewish tragedies. In response, we choose to place Ahavat Chinam at the heart of our community! Ahavat Chinam reminds us not to wait for an opportunity to do good – we can and must go out of our way to perform acts of social justice!

This year our newly formed Tikkun Olam Team was inundated with worthy causes to support. We divided our giving into three categories: Local CommunityJewish Community & Global Community.

Instead of seeking revenge, they have chosen the path of reconciliation.  The   Bereaved Families Forum believes that reconciliation is an essential first step towards a lasting peace.  You can read more about their work here

Radlett Reform Synagogue

We invite the community to also consider donating to the Radlett Reform Tikkun Olam Fund. This will allow us to continue engaging in social action in the community throughout the year and enable us to respond to ad hoc requests for support as need arises. This could include providing small contributions to charities seeking to deliver social action projects in the local community or funding  our own projects and communal events with social action at their heart.
