Clubs & Groups

With the exception of our Pins and Needles sewing group, which is meeting online, our social clubs are NOT running at the moment, we hope to return as soon as we can.

September Club

This is a social club for Synagogue senior citizens, who are often joined by our friends from Belmont Lodge. We meet regularly each month to hear a range of interesting speakers or enjoy a light-hearted quiz followed by tea and sandwiches. We charge a small subscription for each session which goes towards an annual outing.

We are pleased to welcome new members who can be assured that they will be introduced all round and will no doubt find, or make further friends.

For further information please contact the synagogue office.

We hold a Learn to play Bridge –  bridge training courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced players-  Monday mornings from 10.00am-12.00pm.

For details please contact the office on

Watling Table Tennis Club

The back hall of the synagogue has been the home of the club since it started 14 years ago. We currently have about thirty members, some from our community and some from Orthodox and other Progressive Communities. Among our number we include an Emeritus Rabbi, so a good spread, though noticeable by a lack of youngsters. In fact, we have only two teenagers at present.

We are able to field four teams in the Watford Table Tennis League and we gain measureable success. The club is well-known in the Jewish table tennis fraternity, as there are few synagogue-based clubs around. Over the year

s, some of our players have participated in the Maccabi National Championships.

During the summer, which is the off-season, we run a few serious practice sessions. We welcome practised players, including yet-to-become-emeritus Rabbis.

Please contact Malcolm Soloway, please email the synagogue office
