The community is entirely self funding and all our costs are covered by the subscriptions paid by members topped up by donations and bequests. Subscriptions are established at a standard rate, related to various categories of membership. These subscriptions are eligible for tax relief as the Synagogue is a registered Charity.
We have two major categories of membership: family and single person. We also have other rates for young members. Our current subscriptions including a Board of Deputies Levy and burial expenses under the auspice of the Jewish Joint Burial Society (JJBS) are: £798 (family) and £411.60 (single). If you should have difficulty in meeting the subscription rates please discuss the situation in confidence with our Membership Officer. Non Jewish partners of our members, and others who identify with the Jewish community but are either unable, or do not want, to make the step into Judaism, may become “Friends” of the synagogue. The subscription is £50 a year.
