Israel is of profound importance to every one of us as Jews, and its existence has undoubtedly had a profound effect on our experience of what it means to be a Jew in the modern world.
The Israel group fosters knowledge of and appreciation of Israel and its importance in the development of Jewish society worldwide and believes that Israel is important to the diaspora and vice versa.
It seeks to bring greater knowledge of what is happening at all levels of Israeli society by fostering links and development of understanding.
We are planning a twining arrangement with an Israeli Progressive community.

Inspired by a true story, the film follows Menachem the commanding officer of the religious soldiers' combat unit. He is torn between his loyalty to his Rabbi, his duty as a commanding officer and his love to the Rabbi's daughter. When falsely accused of planning an act of terror, he is forced to weigh his alliances. Menachem realises that he should be loyal only to himself. |
